Class Day Lecture 2006 – Nominations for Keynote Faculty Speaker

Thanks for nominating your all-time favorite professor to deliver the keynote lecture at the Class Day Lecture on Saturday, June 17, 2006. The Class Day Lecture is one of many Commencement Weekend events hosted by the Stanford Alumni Association. This year, the event is free to all graduating students, their families and guests. The professor who delivers the lecture to an audience of over 3,000 guests will ideally have the following qualifications:

  • Able to deliver an inspirational speech to graduates, family and friends
  • Respected and admired by your classmates
  • Is a tenure-track professor
  • Currently teaching on campus
  • Accomplished and well known in his field of discipline

Using the form below, please write a 100-150 word nomination for your nominee. Please indicate why you think this professor would be the ideal speaker at the Class Day Lecture.

Nominations will be reviewed by the Senior Class Presidents and staff at the Stanford Alumni Association. Deadline to nominate a professor is February 27, 2006.

About Class Day Lecture

Considered to be one of the most exceptional events of the weekend, the Class Day Lecture has been a highlight of Commencement Weekend for over 35 years. Complimentary admission to the program at Angell Field is offered to all graduating students, their families, and guests. Attendees will be treated to a memorable and casual outdoor event that features a keynote address by a distinguished member of the Stanford faculty. Join us to experience a last class lecture given by one of the students' favorite and most gifted Stanford faculty members. You will be inspired and will walk away proud of Stanford's academic strength and excellence. The Class Day Lecture is for all '06 graduates and their guests and is supported by Stanford Alumni Association membership dues.
